Fast dinghy sailing (skiffs)

Can anyone tell me where all the Swedish skiff sailors sail?
I'm thinking of bringing my Int14 or maybe RS800 to the East coast but need to find a club that races skiffs regularly? classes like B14, 49er, Laser 5000, I14, penultimate 14, RS800 or 700 F18 cats? Where are they all?

If there are enough people interested maybe we could start a new club?

I can bring RS800's from UK for around 50,000kr or twin wire 14's new rules 30,000kr or maybe old 14's like my boat for 10,000Kr

If we had 6 or 7 boats we can have some racing???

There are very few skiff sailors in Sweden.
The 9ers are growing stronger, slowly. http://www.29er.se/
They are generally found at either one of the Royal Yacht Clubs; KSSS and GKSS. Mostly it's 49er crews with Olympic aspirations I think.
There's an active fleet of F18's at KSSS as well.
If you're counting cats maybe Moths are worth mentioning too? After a few years with no activity at all there's a couple of guys in Gothenburg, I think and I've seen two in Stockholm. One of them is a chick who I think went to the worlds as well.(She was mentioned in Sailing Anarchy's coverege)

Other skiffs are far and few between. I know of two RS600's in the Stockholm area.
Also Anders Lewander did campain a 18' for this winters worlds.

If you are looking for a skiff fleet to race in, I'd say 49ers are your only hope. If you fancy multis, there's a healthy fleet at KSSS...

Anders Lewander has his skiff at Bosön at Lidingö outside Stockholm. In the neighbour bay you find plenty of catamarans, for exampel F18. Unfortunately are the most active f18 sailors in Saltsjöbaden, maybe 49er too.

Maybe its time to start something?

I've sailed a few different dinghies and yachts at all levels and nothing beats a twin trapeze mono hull dinghy at 20knts +

So if or when I move over I'll bring a few old 14's to let people have a go and to race against as they are the cheapest way in, or if there are enough people who want to try an RS800 I could get some s/h ones for 40,000 50,000 each.

But thanks for the information, Rs800's would be a great way to train some budding 49er sailors as they are quite a bit easier to handle and can be sailed with mixed crew more easily as you don't need so much grunt.

norrköping has 2 49ers!

Went to the BSS and saw two 49ers parked in th edinghy park so there is some hope for some skiff type sailing!!
