Just bought a Seayak
Hi Anne-Lie, and others.
Hope it is OK to contribute in English, my Swedish needs to much brushing up in order to avoid misunderstandings.
I just bought a Seayak, some two month ago. Im using it for shorter trips, like extended weekends.
So far I have not suffered from the somehow limited loading capacity compared to Sealion. In my opinion Seayak is a fine (beginners/medium skilled paddlers) boat both loaded/unloaded and in still water and medium waves. It offers resonable paddeling comfort(I am 1,82 m) but to some people the cocpit feels to "loose". Depending on your heigth, your proportions and so on, you might have to work with "tuning" your paddeling comfort. I have tried different seats, and adjustments, but i feel that there is still quite some way to reach the optimum position (if suchs thing exists)
I offered a novice to try to paddle the Seayak, and it went surprisingly well. The stability is wery well, due to the U shaped hull. This off course make it a somehow slower boat compared to the boats with more V shaped hull. This could lead to the boat feels more "dull" and not so lively when you get more expirence.
Finally there was a considerable price difference ( knowing that this is not the most important parameter when choosing a kayak.) in Seayak's favour: DKK 7.300,-VS DKK 10.000,-.
I want to stress the fact that I have never paddled a Sealion.
Best regards
