island tur med tält??

jag skriver på engelska, mitt skriftligt svenska är inte så bra :(

i'm planning on biking around iceland summer 2010 but have some concerns with wind and choice of tent.
am curious how people found their tents hold up in the non-stop wind in iceland? were u able to peg in your tent easily or was it a pain? was there enough loose rock around to make it work?

just wondering what others have experienced?

There are plenty of rocks and loose sand.

I biked there for a couple of weeks once... i would have hard pegs and maybe 4 snow/sand pegs if i go back... Reyjkavik, Sellfoss and alot of other campgrounds have gras... Landmannalauger have gravel and rocks in baskets for peg use..

We hade a Hilleberg tent but i saw all kind of tents... som really crapy ones...

The wind and sand made our tent dry and fragile, but i didnt se the wind as a problem...

no worries =)

I took the flight to Keflavik and sleept my first and last night at axel travelcenter... they will keep your bikebox for you in the garage... you can se it from the airport!
