Skidor från Stáddajåhkå till Pieskehaure på en dag?

Nu planerar jag en skidtur i april, Ritsem-Kvikkjokk runt Sulitjelma, från stuga till stuga. Ett annat alternativ är att åka direkt från Stáddajåhkå till Pieskehaure på en dag. Har någon någon åsikt om det? 30 km, lång dag, men mycket nedförsbacke. Jag antar att det beror på snödjupet.
Jag skulle uppskatta alla råd. Tack så mycket.

Hello Jamie, based on your name and wikiloc I answer in english.

Since you already been in the area during the winter you obviously know how much ski conditions differ from one day to the next. Skiing the 30 km from Stáddajåhkå to Pieskehaure in one day can some days be quite easy and other anywere between very hard to close to impossible.

I have been skiing almost the same route, thru Miehttjevagge to the west, 20 years ago. If I remeber correctly we had an avarage distance around 26-30 km during the 10 day skitrip, but only managed around 16-18 km the day thru Miehttjevagge. There is a lot of snow falling in area around Sultitelma and pulling a sledge thru deep snow is slow going.

So personally I would bring a small but strong tent as emergency shelter to feel safe going from Stáddajåhkå to Pieskehaure. It is such a long distance that if you hit really bad weather half way thru the trip it will be quite a challange to get safly back (or forward) to the closest hut.
