She is doing well paddling on the days the wind isnt blowing and is soon in Christchurch after leaving Picton almost a week ago.

Update...

Babs is over half way down the east coast, or over 1/4 of her way around in 16+ days, approx 600km. The weather blows in two direction, up or down the coast very little in between. Her landing on dumping beaches are becoming well practiced.

Update 1st Febuary

Babs today left for Port craig, the last sheltered landing before padling into Fiordland past Puysegur Point, known as one of New Zealands most dangerous pieces of coast. This is where the might of the southern ocans hits New Zealand. You can read more on her blog

The hardest section...

]Babs this week has manage to pass the most dangerous piece of coast of New Zealnd, Puysegur point. So now she heads north into the Fiords, but there will still be some hard sections.

New photos are also uploaded from Timaru to Riverton where she started her most remote leg from.
