Skating links from Canada and USA

Hej,
Jag bor i Nova Scotia, Canada (45N 64W).
Det finns ingen is just nu. Isläggning
på insjöar sker vanligtvis Dec 15 +/- 2 veckar.

Sorry, I must write in English now :-(

Last winter, my first skating was Dec 10.
Most of the winter there was a lot of snow
so it was better skiing than skating. My
last trip on the ice was April 1, on skis
and "sparkstötting".

When we get good skating ice in Nova Scotia,
I will report it to "Israpporter" forum.

Some of my ice pictures from winters 1997-2004
in Nova Scotia and Alberta, on "spark" and skates:

In Alberta (54N 114W), the temperature
has been below freezing for 2 weeks, so maybe
lakes in Alberta now have skating ice. I found
this article about people skating last year
(Nov 11 2003) on 2 lakes in Alberta:

I will be visiting my sister and mother in
Alberta, Dec 18 - Jan 7, so maybe I will be skating
there.

The NUMBER ONE tour-skater in North America is
Jamie Hess (Nordic Skater) from Vermont, who
skated the 1999 Vikingarännet. He has the
following WWW pages that might be interesting to
skaters who are visiting Canada or USA:
