We did have a lot of snow this winter, but it has melted quickly, and unless we get another big fall in April (unlikely), is not likely to be a problem by May.
Heavy rain may impede your crossings, but that's not something you're going to be able to predict well in advance, and its effects should also be relatively short-lived.
