The Chang Tang - short facts.

It has been called the most inaccessable place on earth; Tibet's mythical and barren northernmost part, The Chang Tang - the world's highest plateau, approximately 400 000 km/sq of empty wilderness, with an average altitude close to the one of Everest base camp.
Many great explorers dreamt about crossing these enormous high land steppes and to reach the forbidden city Lhasa in central Tibet.
Prerzvalskij, Hedin, Littledale and many others tried and failed. They were all defeated by the plateau's huge size, harsh climate and lack of opportunities to get provisions.

Today it's still a dream and challenge that attracts modern day adventurers and The Chang Tang is considered the last completely unexplored region on planet earth.
