Camino de Santiago/ Camino Mozárabe / Via de la Plata + Camino Sanabres, ca 1200 km

Camino Mozárabe med sitt kuperade karaktär ..sträcker sig från Almeria, Malága (eller Granada längre in i Andalusien ) vid Medelhavskusten och går genom Cordoba till Mérida (Extremadura/Badajoz) och vidare därifrån en mer platt men stegrande mot Extremadura, och vidare höjderna i Castilla och Lion.. genom Via de la Plata. Vid Granja de Moreruela fortsatte vi genom att följa Camino Sanabres ända till Santiago de Compostela...

Det var en ny utmaning vi tog oss. Att försöka klara dessa bergtrakterna i söder..Sierra Nevada och sedan Sierra Morena var ganska tufft. Vi visste dock vad vi skulle gå igenom. När vi kom till Mérida var vi redan ca 440 km trötta..men vi hade planer på att fortsätta dem ca 730 km kvar ända till Santiago.

Vi startade vår vandring i Granada, den 12:te Maj och gick varje dag tom 27:e Juni då vi stod med våra trötta fötter framför Katedralen i Santiago de Compostela ( Vi gick i praktiken varje dag, mellan 18 - 35 km bortse från fyra dagar där vi valde att sova två nätter i kända historiska städer och gå utan ryggsäckarna och se alla sevärdigheterna i Cordoba, Mérida, Cáseres och Salamanca).

Camino Mozárabe its the collecting name for all the roads starting in Andalusien and leading to Santiago. The region geograficaly, is hilly and the nature consists of enormues olive groves and some grapes ( except the part starting in Sevilla ) follow the Sierra Nevada from Almeria ... or starting in Malaga on the coast of the Mediterranean sea and on to Cordoba and the Sierra Morena, continue to Mérida on the Silver road. We, had a time - limit, and decided to start at Granada which is the original historicaly startpoint of this Camino (other ways are more modern. The path from sevilla is the Silver road which has another historica bakground). All this path, though.. leads to Mérida in the municipal of Badajoz in the region of Extremadura. From Mérida a more flat but smuthly increasingly to the heights of Castile and Lion .. along wit the Silver road / Via de la Plata and on to Granja. In Granja de Moreruela we wanted to continued by following the Camino Sanabres all the way to Santiago de Compostela ...

To try to cope with these mountains of in the south /Sierra Nevada and then the Sierra Morena / was pretty tough. However, we knew what before... We knew what we have to go through. When while we came to Merida, we were already about 440 km tired .. and we had plans to continue some more 730 km ..the whole way to Santiago.

We started our journey in Granada, on 12 th May, and went every day until 27th June when we stood with our tired feet in front of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela (We went in practice every day, between 18 and 35 km disregard four large and historical cities where we chose to sleep two nights or come early and walk without backpacks and see all the attractions ( Cordoba, Merida, Caseres and Salamanca).
